This work was started in 1937 by Bro. F. La Fleur. Â Â

Pastor La Fleur was converted in 1937. He excelled spiritually and was given the responsibility of a Sunday school in the Curepe area as an outstation of the Arouca Pentecostal Church. As the Sunday school grew he envisioned a church. Â This idea was welcomed by the Canadian Missionaries who were the authorities in those days. Â The Sunday school hour changed from 4:00 pm to 9:00 am followed by Worship at 10:00 am.

Bible Study and Prayer Meetings were also added to the weekly activities of that vibrant assembly. In 1941 Pastor La Fleur embarked upon a church building program with a church population of over forty members.

A building and manse was erected at the corner of Mc Donnell and Phillip Streets. Curepe Pentecostal Empowerment Ministries International was completed in 1948 and dedicated to the Lord service on April 15th 1951. The church still exists at this location.
